We are looking for a Technical Programme Manager to lead global manufacturing programmes for IonQ's quantum computing systems and to own complex customer site deployments across the Americas. You will orchestrate worldwide subsystem manufacturing, with photonics and advanced electronics at the centre, and keep deployment programmes running to plan.

You will drive execution across engineering, science, global mobility, legal, supply chain, logistics, facilities, security and customer teams, so that advanced quantum systems are built, delivered, installed and commissioned successfully. The work suits someone comfortable in ambiguity, at ease with international programmes and their dependencies, and able to carry a site from early planning through onsite execution to customer handover.

What you will do

• Lead planning and execution of global quantum system manufacturing across every production facility.
• Lead deployment and commissioning at customer sites across the Americas, from planning through to handover.
• Work with research, production, compliance and logistics teams to keep builds and subassembly deliveries on schedule.
• Run site readiness with facilities, security, networking and customer stakeholders, and coordinate staffing, installation sequencing and vendors onsite.
• Manage risk, issues and escalation across internal teams, vendors and customers so that schedules hold.

What you will bring

You will have five or more years in technical programme management, manufacturing or deployment of complex hardware systems, alongside a technical degree or equivalent experience. You will have run international programmes that pulled together logistics, facilities, trade compliance, mobility and field operations, and you will be used to holding a critical path across teams that do not report to you. Clear written and spoken communication matters here, as does the confidence to decide when the picture is incomplete.

You'd be a great fit with

• Experience scaling high technology hardware factory operations across more than one continent.
• Familiarity with facilities buildout, infrastructure readiness or construction coordination for technical installations.
• Onsite deployment experience with enterprise, government or research customers.
• Exposure to trapped ion systems, photonics, quantum computing or comparable advanced hardware.
• An MS in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related technical field.

This role is based in Bothell, Washington, on site at least three days a week, with travel of around 30%, mostly within the United States, and occasional trips to our Oxford site.

Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available.
