Effective October 17, 2026. This page explains what personal information we handle and why.
1. Who we are
Stateside Spec is owned and operated by Primeta AI Inc., Primeta AI Inc., 1111B S Governors Ave STE 4751, Dover, DE 19904, US. This page explains what personal information we handle for statesidespec.com, our job alert and article emails, and paid employer listings. It goes with the Terms of use.
2. What we collect
If you browse the Site. You don’t need an account to browse jobs. When you visit, our servers and Cloudflare, which sits in front of the Site, necessarily receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page you request and the time. We use your IP address briefly to limit abuse (for example, to rate-limit the sign-up and contact forms). We do not run advertising or third-party analytics scripts on the Site.
Job views and Apply clicks. We count job page views and clicks on Apply links with our own first-party analytics: we record which job, the day, the page you came from and an anonymous daily code made from your IP address and browser that we can’t reverse and delete after two days. We don’t store your IP address, set analytics cookies, use third-party trackers, or count bots; raw event rows are deleted after 90 days and only daily totals are kept. If you arrive through a link with a campaign code (such as ?ref=school-name), we keep that short code for up to seven days in the session cookie and attach it to those counts and to your sign-up if you subscribe, so we can tell which outreach worked; it says nothing about you beyond which link you followed.
If you sign up for job alerts or Articles. We collect your email address and the choices you make: whether you want job alerts and/or articles, and, for job alerts, the disciplines, states and work arrangements (and, if you choose them, career levels and a relocation preference) you pick. We record when you confirmed your address and when you unsubscribed. We keep a record of the emails sent to you (which alerts or issues, when, and the email provider’s message ID) so we don’t send duplicates.
If you sign in. Sign-in is by a one-time link emailed to you. We store the link’s token and expiry, and an account for your email address. There are no passwords.
If you contact us. The contact form collects your email, optionally your name, a topic and your message. The form emails it to us. It is not saved in our database and stays in our email system.
If you submit and pay for an employer listing. We collect your email, company name, job title, apply link, logo link, location, work arrangement, discipline, industry, description, whether sponsorship is offered, whether the role is limited to U.S. persons or needs a clearance, whether you chose Featured, your attestation that the company is U.S.-headquartered and U.S.-controlled, and the date and version of the Terms you agreed to. We also record the order amount, tier, status (paid, approved, refunded and so on), screening notes, timestamps, and Stripe’s session, payment and refund identifiers. Once published, the listing content is public on the Site.
Payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe’s page. We do not receive or store your card number. Stripe sends us the identifiers and status listed above and sends you a receipt. Stripe’s use of your data is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.
Job listings we collect. We collect public job postings (company, title, location, description, pay, apply link) from employers’ public career pages and feeds. They describe jobs, not individuals.
3. How we use it
- To run the board and show you jobs.
- To send the emails you chose (job alerts, articles) and the service emails you need (confirmation and sign-in links, and order, refund and listing notices for employers).
- To process, screen, review, publish and, when needed, refund employer listings.
- To prevent abuse and fraud, secure the Site, and comply with law.
- To improve the Service, using aggregate counts such as the number of subscribers, open roles, and views and Apply clicks per job. Employers see these counts for their own paid listings.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not make decisions about you through automated profiling with legal or similarly significant effects. The automated screening on paid listings assesses the listing, not you, and every listing that passes is reviewed by an editor.
4. Who we share it with
We use these providers to run the Service. They process data for us or, in Stripe’s case, also under their own terms.
- Postmark (email delivery): sends our emails. Handles recipient addresses, email content and delivery status. We send with open tracking and link tracking turned off.
- Stripe (payments): employer listing payments and refunds. Handles the employer’s email, card details (entered with Stripe, not us), amount and order identifiers.
- OpenAI (AI model): reads job listing text to tag and summarize it (discipline, seniority, pay, work-authorization notes, whether it fits the board). We send listing text only: title, company, location and description. That is public job-posting text, and it can include text an employer submitted to us when an editor runs the analysis. We do not send subscriber emails, preferences or payment data.
- Our hosting provider (a virtual private server): runs the Site and its database, so it holds all the data we hold.
- Cloudflare: network protection and delivery in front of the Site, so it handles traffic to the Site, including IP addresses.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): turns a job’s city into map coordinates. We send job location text such as “Austin, TX”, which is not personal data.
Your browser also loads a few resources directly from third parties, which therefore receive your IP address and browser details: Google Fonts (page fonts), Google’s favicon service (a company logo on some job listings), unpkg.com (the map library) and OpenStreetMap tile servers (map tiles) on the jobs page. We do not control those providers’ practices.
We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect rights and safety, or in a merger, acquisition or sale of the Service. We do not sell the subscriber list.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The Site sets one cookie, a session cookie (_americabuilds_session; secure, HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax). It keeps you signed in, carries form-security tokens, and remembers short-lived choices such as where to return after sign-in. Our analytics (section 2) set no cookie of their own; the only thing they add to the session cookie is the campaign code described there, when you arrive through such a link. We use no advertising, social-media or analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers other than the font, favicon and map resources described above. Our emails contain no tracking pixel and no rewritten tracking links. Because we do not track you across sites, there is nothing to opt out of, and we do not treat a Do Not Track signal differently from any other request.
6. How long we keep it
Apart from the analytics data below, we do not yet run automatic deletion on a fixed schedule. This is how we handle your data:
- Subscribers. We keep your email and choices while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep the address, marked as unsubscribed, so we never email you again. If you ask us to delete your data, we delete it, keeping only what we must, such as a minimal record that the address opted out.
- Analytics. The anonymous daily code is made with a key that we delete after two days. Raw view and click rows are deleted after 90 days, and only daily totals (counts per job, with no visitor information) are kept.
- Sign-in links expire after a short time and cannot be reused.
- Employer orders (including billing records and the record of your Terms agreement) are kept as long as needed for refunds, disputes, tax and accounting, and legal compliance.
- Emails and server logs are kept for a limited time by Postmark, Cloudflare and our hosting.
- Public job listings stay in our archive after they close.
7. Your choices and rights

California and other U.S. state privacy laws. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not to be treated worse for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in these laws. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will verify it by confirming control of the email address, and we aim to answer within 45 days. An authorized agent can make a request for you. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and we will review it. We honor these requests from any U.S. resident whether or not a state law requires it.
Outside the United States. The Service is aimed at U.S. jobs and U.S. readers. If you are elsewhere and subscribe, your information is processed in the United States.
8. Security
We use HTTPS and access controls, and we do not store card data. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee security. If a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this page and will change the effective date. If a change is material, we will tell subscribers by email or on the Site before it takes effect when we can.
