As a Research Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

Developing capabilities in precision coating and web processing technologies and applying them to new products and processes.Ensuring successful technology scale-up from laboratory to manufacturing.Characterizing and analyzing physical properties of fluids, dispersions, and substrates.Presenting results in a clear and concise manner to multidisciplinary teams.Initiating and contributing to the development of intellectual property.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Currently possess or be in final year of Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Enjoy hands-on mechanical and experimental workExperience running experiments and applying the scientific methodStrong communication, organization, and interpersonal skillsWork well both in multi-disciplinary teams and independentlyMethodical, problem-solving attitudeUnderstanding of materials properties, rheology, metrology, and process equipmentProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with one of the common CAD systems such as AutoCad, Solidworks, etc.Previous or current 3M Internship, Co-Op or Tech Aide experience

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $81,983 - $100,202, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
