Role Description:   

The Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) team is hiring a Systems Engineer to support programs for our US military and various international customers, keeping the world safe from foreign threats. SDS supports multiple Collins contracts and is seeking to fill roles across several open contracts – our goal is to align each new hire with a position that best suits their skills and allows for career growth.

In this role, you will play a critical part in the design, development, and integration of products, from concept to production.  You will collaborate closely with hardware and software engineers to ensure seamless system performance and deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Onsite: This is an onsite role supporting our Largo, FL location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Government Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance after start.  

 

What YOU will do:  

Support efforts with cross-functional team members (hardware and software engineers) to ensure system compatibility and performanceConduct system-level testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and functionality for multiple yearly releases of software solutionsPerform dry run and formal testing (manual and automated) on new software builds in the labSupport analysis of software issues and enhancements to drive test updatesWork closely with software personnel to document issues found during testing
Qualifications You Must Have: 

Ability to analyze system level requirements and specificationsPrior testing experienceAbility to learn communication and networking hardware and softwareProficiency in problem/failure analysis and documentationPractical scripting/test automation experienceTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 1 year of experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experienceThe ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security ClearanceU.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
