Position Overview

The Harness Inspector is responsible for inspecting harness assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and internal quality requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow procedures, and a solid understanding of inspection techniques. The Harness Inspector will support quality and production by identifying defects, documenting findings, and ensuring all assemblies meet required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

Perform inspections of harness assemblies to IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards

Identify defects in crimps, terminations, insulation, and routing

Verify labeling, configuration, and workmanship meet requirements

Use inspection tools such as magnification and measurement devices

Document inspection results accurately within company systems

Follow work instructions, procedures, and quality standards

Escalate nonconformances to lead inspectors or supervisors

Support in-process and final inspections as needed

Maintain a clean and organized inspection area

Continuously improve knowledge of standards and inspection techniques

Required Qualifications

IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification (Required or ability to obtain)

Strong attention to detail

Ability to read and interpret basic drawings and work instructions

Basic understanding of harness assembly and inspection processes

Good documentation and communication skills

Ability to follow procedures and standards consistently

Willingness to learn and develop inspection skills
