The GSE Manufacturing Technician is responsible for building, testing, and preparing ground support equipment that enables electric aircraft operations. As a Manufacturing Technician at BETA Technologies, you will work in a small team environment to take designs from process development through repeatable production. - Follow technical data packages, work instructions, drawings, bills of material, and wiring diagrams to meet product specifications and tolerance requirements.
- Install, route, terminate, and verify electrical harnesses, connectors, panels, and hardware in accordance with approved build documentation.
- Perform functional checks, in-process quality inspections, and basic troubleshooting; identify and escalate process deviations, nonconformances, and safety concerns.
- Use measuring, diagnostic, and test equipment to evaluate assemblies and support root-cause investigation and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate, clear manufacturing records, including assembly documentation, inspection results, torque values, electrical checks, and test data.
- Support process development, continuous-improvement activities, and incorporation of engineering changes into production builds.
- Use required personal protective equipment and comply with company and government safety requirements, including electrical and high-voltage safety practices.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned to meet company goals.
- Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, automotive, industrial-equipment, or related technical setting; or a two-year degree or certificate from an accredited technical school, college, or university.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work instructions.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical assembly practices.
- Ability to assist with problem analysis and make sound, independent decisions within established procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain complete, accurate production documentation.
- Good team communication skills and a commitment to safe, high-quality work.
- Experience manufacturing, testing, or servicing electric-vehicle charging equipment, industrial power systems, battery systems, or aerospace ground support equipment.
- Experience with high-voltage DC systems, electrical troubleshooting, crimping and harness assembly, or production test equipment.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methods.
