Employer description
Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.
As a Fleet Launch Operator, you'll own the safe movement of our robots from our facilities to commercial and residential sites and back. You'll prepare, load, transport, deliver, and recover robots and equipment using company vans and trucks, and make sure every handoff is documented. This is a hands-on logistics role: Service and Engineering handle all robot repairs and technical work.
This is a contract-to-hire position with the goal of transitioning to full-time employment.
Responsibilities:
- Get equipment and robots ready for engineering projects, field deployments, demos, and testing by verifying all items are present, conducting visual inspections, and managing charging.
- Inspect and safely drive company vans and trucks on scheduled delivery and recovery routes.
- Load, secure, unload, and position robots using approved restraints, tools, and team-lift procedures.
- Scan robots and equipment in and out, and document delivery conditions and handoffs at the time of movement.
- Keep Dispatch updated on progress, delays, site-access issues, and any damage or missing items.
- Flag any robot that isn't ready to Service; never make repairs or configuration changes.
- Represent Figure professionally at customer sites and residences.
Requirements:
- 2+ years in delivery, logistics, fleet, field, or warehouse operations.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record; comfortable driving vans and box trucks up to 26 ft with liftgate.
- Experience moving high-value, fragile, or heavy equipment safely.
- Can lift up to 50 lbs and safely maneuver robots using carts and team lifts.
- Strong attention to detail and consistent use of checklists and scanning apps.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work 8+ hours, occasional weekends, and extended hours when needed.
- Thrive in a fast paced environment.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Box truck, liftgate, or white-glove delivery experience.
- Forklift, pallet jack, or load securement training.
- Experience with barcode scanning or electronic proof of delivery.
- A passion for helping scale the deployment of humanoid robots.
