Employer description

About Re:Build

At Re:Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions.

We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation.

The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles)

About Re:CAM

Re:CAM is developing AI-powered software and manufacturing operations to radically optimize how manufacturers move from engineering information to finished parts. Built within Re:Build Manufacturing, we combine manufacturing expertise with software engineering and applied AI to address practical challenges on the manufacturing floor.

Our software automates the development of CNC machining strategies, allowing teams to go from engineering models and drawings to complete machining strategies and G-code in seconds. We take a ground-up, end-to-end approach to software development and plant operations, resulting in a step change in plant productivity.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a CNC Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC machinery to fabricate parts. In this role you will run production jobs, perform inspections, prepare parts for shipment, and work alongside the engineers building Re:CAM's software to optimize the workflow.

Machine Operators communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and management, follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment.

  • Location: Rock Hill, SC
  • Shift: Day shift – hours to be confirmed. 5 day work week, 8 hour shifts.
  • Overtime available

What you will get to do

  • Perform complete setups on 3 axis CNC mills and lathes to machine parts that meet customer specifications
  • Properly install and confirm tools, holders, and offset equipment, and follow written setup instructions
  • Download programs to machines, verify machine readiness, and safely load, run, and unload product on vertical machining centers and lathes.
  • Inspect and verify machined parts to confirm they meet specification requirements, and legibly record the results
  • Give structured feedback to the Re:CAM engineering team on the software and operations process
  • Perform manual deburring operations as needed
  • Perform daily maintenance on equipment and clean the work area after each shift
  • Complete production reports and associated digital forms legibly
  • Communicate with management, supervisors, operators, quality, and other shop personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
  • Follows company procedures, including but not limited to Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, and Emergency Planning.
  • Follow all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and understand the quality policy and quality objectives
  • Safeguard company, customer, and supplier property (electronic, intellectual, and physical) and manage assigned records as owner
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment and practice risk-based thinking in day-to-day decisions

What you bring to the team

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • 2–5 years of CNC experience (milling, lathe, both), including 1+ years of setup experience
  • Proficient with machining operations such as drilling, milling, turning, and tapping
  • Proficient with inspection techniques — calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and indicators
  • The judgment to recognize there is no one-size-fits-all approach to machining, and the willingness to rethink how work is done to improve a part or a process
  • Able to multi-task in a complex environment and hold attention to detail
  • Strong time management and the ability to work under general supervision
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required
  • A strong desire to help build and operate the manufacturing systems of the future

Bonus points

  • Skilled trade or technical certification
  • Experience working in compliant environments such as defense
  • Familiarity with CAM software and editing G-code at the machine
  • Experience following Quality Management System (QMS) procedures
