The Work
At our Lockheed Martin RMS Mitchel Field site on Long Island (NYC metro area), we are seeking a skilled engineer primarily responsible for leading technical efforts and projects for the U.S Navy’s strategic navigation submarine programs. In this position you will work closely with subject matter experts to design, implement, and validate high‑fidelity inertial models, stochastic error‑modeling frameworks, and covariance‑analysis tools that underpin system performance assessments and design trade studies. You will serve as a primary analyst of the software suite used for test‑data assessment, delivering MATLAB‑based algorithms, Kalman‑filter implementations, and new sonar‑filter functionalities. Responsibilities include producing detailed technical design documentation, generating accuracy assessment reports for new system concepts, and providing guidance and training to stakeholders on the use and interpretation of the analysis tools. The role requires strong expertise in stochastic modeling, MATLAB development, and sensor‑fusion techniques, and offers the opportunity to shape critical capabilities for the U.S. Navy’s undersea warfare mission set.
