Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a dynamic Software Engineer who is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining space command and control (C2) systems software. The Software Engineer will work with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and assess software interfaces, operational performance requirements, and overall system design. The ideal candidate should have experience with the full software development lifecycle. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Essential Functions: 

Participating in all phases of the software development life cycle, creating software test procedures, developing software programs, preparing related documentation, conducting peer reviews, identifying, tracking, and resolving software defectsClearly and succinctly convey information and ideasCollaborate effectively with small teams of software engineersDevelop software as a Java full stack engineer 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification in less than 60 daysAbility to obtain a US Secret security clearanceAt least 2 years of experience in software development with a focus on Java full stack development 

Preferred Additional Skills:

Knowledgeable in the full software development lifecycle from requirements elicitation to deploymentStrong written and verbal skillsStrong organization of open software tasksUnderstanding of software engineering principles and industry best practices, including Agile developmentAbility to work in a team environment to potentially include duties in other technical disciplinesExperience with Apache NiFiExperience with RabbitMQ message brokerExperience with relational databasesKnowledge of asynchronous programmingFamiliarity with source code repositories (e.g., GitLab)Experience with agile development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)Understanding of containerization and developing/deploying in containerized environmentsKnowledge of Tanzu and Docker 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $74,500-$138,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
