Job Description:

L3Harris is currently seeking a Software Engineering Manager to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility, with future possibility of relocation to our Rockwall, TX facility, and offers a 9/80 schedule.

Essential Functions:

Champions continuous improvement, process innovation, and lessons learned activities into software development process and productsManaging software development in a cost-effective and time efficient mannerAccountability to both L3Harris internal and external customers for Cost and Schedule performance on Programs and IRADCoordination and senior review and approval of bid and proposal effortsManage relationships with external hardware and software vendorsParticipation in technical and programmatic discussions with customers ensuring expectations of all are understood and managedContribute to new business pursuits by growing cross-functional relationships in Business Development and across Business AreasProvide mentorship, coaching, guidance, and motivate team members with respect to career development, opportunities for growth, and growing group leadership talentConduct performance evaluations of engineersManage recruitment, interviews, and hiring of qualified staffTechnical training of staff members and advancement of state-of-the-art technology through appropriate industry interaction and continued education of technical staffContribute to the creation and implementation of strategic plans and technology development roadmaps 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.Strong background in software developmentProven record of successfully leading large project planning and development activitiesAble to effectively communicate, including demonstrated presentation skillsCandidate must be able to handle stressful situations while dealing professionally with all aspects of the situation and organizationActive DoD Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain/maintain DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance 

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience working within an Agile development environment is highly desirable. Scrum Team certification and/or experienceExperience with software automated test tools and frameworksExperience with DevOps process, tools, and proceduresExperience in bidding technical work and related activitiesExcellent analytical skills to evaluate data, fiscal or technical, from which decisions are made, and a demonstrated ability to build consensus cross functionallyDemonstrated history of embracing change and continually pushing for organizational improvementPrevious professional experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) or intelligence communityActive DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance
