Conducts mission/program specific real time spacecraft/satellite flight operations during readiness, execution and evaluation phases. Develops detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics, satellite performance analysis, command and control of on-orbit satellites. Provides technical direction for on orbit mission support, plans for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommends alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support. Provides failure analysis of the performance of the orbiting satellites via telemetry data. Utilizes system software to accomplish all spacecraft control tasks and recommends improvements. Analyzes and validates software performance. Performs flight length orbit adjust and daily special event studies.

Lockheed Martin is seeking a full-time Early Career Satellite Systems Engineer to join the SAGE Team located in Fort Belvoir, VA. This position supports the Government and its customers by supporting 24x7 operations, monitoring production systems, and ensuring customers are receiving the most accurate, relevant products they need to accomplish their missions. You must be willing to work rotating shifts to be considered. We will train you through an extensive education and certification program to utilize your current engineering skills in support of an important customer mission.

Must be a US Citizen and reside within the US; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Ability to obtain TS/SCI w/Poly required for this role.

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelors Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts or Science (STEAM) discipline or other related field such as engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, business, communication, education, etc.

•Ability to support a rotating schedule

•Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in an enterprise team environment

•Due to nature of work, candidate should have a willingness to obtain/maintain certifications or qualifications as majority of training will be On the Job (OTJ)

Desired Skills
• Experience following detailed engineering/system procedures

• Experience in process development or process improvement

• Familiarity in one of the following: LINUX,
MATLAB, JAVA, C++, PERL, ORACLE/SQL, HTML,
XML.

• Understanding of software / hardware
infrastructure, middleware, and system
architectures.

• Excellent written and verbal communication
skills

• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

• Proficient with MS Office

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $65500.00 - $121700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
