Employer description

Quantum computing has the potential to solve important problems beyond the reach of conventional computers. At PsiQuantum, we’re building a general-purpose silicon photonic quantum computer to tackle these challenges.

We’re seeking a Photonic Model Integrator to develop and maintain our library of photonic component and circuit models. This role sits at the intersection of photonic circuit design, CAD infrastructure, and electromagnetic (EM) modeling. You’ll help ensure that schematic, layout, and extracted models stay consistent, automated, and ready for simulation.

Responsibilities

Develop physics-based models of photonic components for quantum circuit simulations.

Build and maintain a library of photonic component models.

Develop component- and circuit-simulation tools and pipelines.

Improve the reproducibility of design-to-simulation workflows.

Collaborate with PDK engineers to maintain model links to process design kits.

Experience and Qualifications

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.

6+ years of experience in integrated photonics.

Strong Python scripting skills.

Experience with photonic layout tools such as KLayout or Cadence Virtuoso; EM solvers such as Lumerical FDTD/MODE, HFSS, CST, or Tidy3D; and circuit simulators such as SPICE, INTERCONNECT, Caphe, or PhotonForge.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with varied audiences.

Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills; creativity, initiative, and attention to detail.

A track record of delivering impactful results.

Ability to work independently with limited direction, manage multiple priorities, and deliver on schedule.

Demonstrated interest in quantum computing.

Ability to contribute in a fast-paced startup environment.
