Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking embedded software engineers in Palm Bay or Malabar, FL to work on a dynamic team to extend and enhance existing software components to deliver comprehensive test solutions covering all depot and manufacturing needs for F35.

Candidate will work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.

Essential Functions:

Requirements, systems architecture, software architecture, and designC/C++ Software Development using existing toolsTesting tools may include test frameworks in PythonUse of Code Coverage ToolsDevelopment will support L3Harris mission systems integration architectureConduct independent technical investigations of considerable complexity to improve system performance or solve difficult system requirements issuesCoordinate with other functional engineers to develop and test products; resolve compatibility and interface problems with other subsystemsInterface with other departments to participate in specification, design, code, and test reviewsFollow internal process to ensure proper conformance to established policies and proceduresProvide timely production support and problem resolutionAbility to obtain Secret Clearance 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience interacting with software development throughout the design cycle including major design reviews and architecture reviews.Experience with Hardware and Software integration and testKnowledgeable of safety-critical software development / DO-178 C or above industry standardsDescopes and Test automation experience using Python or similar languages3+ years of embedded developmentExperience with APIs/BSPs/Drivers, OpenGL, health and statusProgramming for Linux & Real-time operating systems3+ years’ experience with C++ systems development with understanding of Software/Hardware co-design, distributed systems design, and software/computer architecture.3 + years’ experience with avionics lifecycle execution.Secret clearance preferredStrong working knowledge of Bash/Python, Intel x86/ARM/FPGA/SoC, Embedded System Design, Release Engineering, Understanding of Change and Configuration Management, Debug/Trace Analysis, Real-time Operating Systems like VxWorks/LynxOS/Integrity, Software Integration, Test, and Verification/ValidationAbility to work well across multiple engineering disciplines3 + years’ experience writing/modifying Linux device drivers.3 + years’ experience with Linux kernel-space/user-space
